In your search for a veterinary facility, we believe you expect high quality care as well as great service. Our goal has been to assemble a veterinary health care team committed to providing exceptional client service and veterinary health care. Our commitment to you is to continue to offer our world class service and a state of the art veterinary facility.

When you first arrive at Carter County Animal Hospital, we will need you to fill out a new patient form for each new patient we will be caring for. This should take between 10 and 15 minutes. You may speed up this process by clicking on the online forms and printing/completing the forms before you arrive. After completing the required forms, you and your pet will be escorted to one of our exam rooms to be seen by Dr. Wilson and our technical staff.

Carter County Animal Hospital has an in-house laboratory, X-ray facility and pharmacy that allow a large number of general illnesses to be diagnosed quickly and medications to be dispensed immediately for your convenience. Should your pet need surgical or dental procedures, our surgical area is equipped with a CO2 surgical laser to minimize your pet’s discomfort and a dental scaler and polisher that assist in keeping your pet’s teeth healthy and contribute to their overall health.

Should your pet need to stay with us for a weekend get-away or due to illness, they will spend their time in our separate interior, climate-controlled boarding facility or our isolation/Intesive Care Unit. These separate rooms with individual ventilation systems ensure that our “Bed and Breakfast” visitors are not exposed to our ill patients, who will stay in a quiet, calm atmosphere near our medical staff. Clients wishing to board their pets are required to provide a current vaccination record. Dogs must be current on rabies, DACLPP and Bordetella (kennel cough) vaccines. Cats must be current on rabies and FVRCPC plus leukemia vaccinations. Should your pet need any of the above-referenced vaccinations, they may be given on site.

We are pleased to offer the following services at CCAH

Please note that we will be on-site for pet drop-offs as early as 7:30 a.m.
Emergencies are accepted anytime our clinic is open. If you feel you have an emergency with your pet, please call us or come to the hospital immediately. If possible, it is best to call before coming in so that a staff member can advise you on your particular emergency.

After Hour Care

We have a veterinarian and personnel on duty who are trained and equipped to handle any urgent care need your pet has. Usually an emergency team consists of one veterinarian and at least one technician working together to save a pet’s life. Emergencies can be things such as a snake bite, poisoning, hit by a car, or chocolate ingestion. If you ever feel that your pet needs emergency treatment, do not hesitate to call or come in immediately.

We are also available for urgent care when the condition is not life-threatening, but you feel your pet needs to be seen before you are able to get an appointment. Our staff will work your pet in between scheduled appointments. When you arrive, our receptionists will be able to give you an estimate on how long you may have to wait in order to be seen.

For after-hours or weekend emergencies, please contact Dr. Wilson directly by calling 580-222-1488. If he does not answer, please leave your name, telephone number and the nature of your emergency. He will return your call as soon as possible. If Dr. Wilson is unavailable, we recommend you contact the Denton County Animal Emergency Room by calling 1-800-876-0060 or the Emergency Center in Norman, OK by calling 1-405-360-7828 . This is the nearest animal emergency clinic.
